Overview
Family Smile is a boutique dental clinic that works almost exclusively by referral, focusing on long-term relationships and patient trust. The clinic had no previous website but wanted a strong online presence that didn’t feel too “clinical” or rely on intimidating visuals. Instead, they needed a site that was professional, clean, and welcoming, with a clear explanation of services — all without attracting mass traffic.
My role covered UX and UI design, visual direction, and content coordination. I collaborated closely with a marketing team member to align content and structure, ensuring clarity for all visitors — regardless of digital proficiency. The brand aesthetic was developed from scratch, drawing inspiration from the clinic’s interior design: modern navy, gold accents, and soft marble textures — a calm, elegant alternative to the sterile white common in dental branding.

Scope & challenges
The project required a custom approach to reflect the unique feel of the clinic and the preferences of its audience:
- No prior website or brand identity
- The clinic had a refined interior design but no formal brand guidelines
- Needed to reflect a family-oriented, accessible philosophy — not luxury or exclusivity
- Avoided before/after visuals to reduce discomfort
- Requested no animations or complex effects, prioritizing clean, functional navigation for users with varied digital experience
- Content had to be warm, professional, and easy to digest in Bulgarian
Process
1. Discovery
Worked closely with the clinic and a marketing collaborator to identify their tone, values, and visual preferences.
2. Brand Direction & Aesthetic
Developed a soft visual system based on existing physical spaces — navy, gold, marble — creating continuity between the digital and in-person experience.
3. UX & Structure
Designed a straightforward sitemap focused on trust, care, and accessibility, with mobile-first layouts.
4. Content Planning
Structured service explanations and values in a tone that’s inviting, informative, and easy to read.
5. Development
Built and tested the site in Webflow, ensuring fast load times and clear navigation, with CTA placements that guide users to call or contact easily.
6. Deployment & Support
Launched the site and continue to provide updates and visual adjustments as needed.
Design approach & implementation
The website was designed to echo the clinic’s in-person experience: warm, quiet, and trustworthy. All design and content decisions were shaped around clarity, accessibility, and emotional tone — reducing digital noise and guiding users to what truly matters. The goal wasn’t flashy effects, but subtle elegance and ease of use.
Key elements included:
- A responsive, minimal layout suitable for patients of all ages and digital comfort levels
- Visual identity inspired by the clinic’s interior (navy, gold, marble) for a consistent brand experience
- Patient-friendly language that balances professionalism with approachability
- Discreet but visible contact CTAs for easy phone or message access
- No clinical before/after images or animations, in line with the clinic’s request for a calm and non-intimidating experience
